    4.3

I have a 4.3 in my '93 with over 300k on the original motor and NV3500 and it's been great. As long as you gear it correctly you will be fine. Lighter can be a benefit while offroading. Less torque is easier on the 10 bolt too.. I even tow a 19' carolina skiff and it does well. Not a torque...

Starting problems / gas fumes (1993 TBI)

Well, just to update the thread. I believe I've narrowed it down to the starter. It's hard to believe that the first time the starter locked up was immediately after correcting the whatever caused the gas tank not to take fuel (still don't know what happened or how I resolved that). The starter...

Starting problems / gas fumes (1993 TBI)

I just ordered a manual. I don't think it's the temp sensor, it's only a few years old. Note that when I say it would not start, the engine wouldn't even turnover. Again, this happened (first time) immediately after fixing the the gas tank problem (not taking more than a gallon of fuel). So I...

Starting problems / gas fumes (1993 TBI)

OK, thanks. I had read that somewhere, but could not find the link. After I was able to finally put gas in the tank, I heard a loud click near the tank.. Sounded like a valve. Then it would not start for about 5 minutes. Sent from my XT1096 using Tapatalk

Starting problems / gas fumes (1993 TBI)

OK, maybe it was just a coincidence that it happened on the same day the first time. I did need to replace the ignition control module a few months back. Maybe something is stressing it? Sent from my XT1096 using Tapatalk

Starting problems / gas fumes (1993 TBI)

It was not related to the pump, I tried pulling the nozzle out and gently squeezing the handle. I tried two pumps. Even went to another gas station. Believe me, I know how to use a gas pump. The pump would shut off and gas would come out of the filler as it were full. It clearly was not full...

Starting problems / gas fumes (1993 TBI)

I believe I have an issue related to pressure buildup from gas fumes.. The sequence of events: Last week I stopped to get gas, and the tank would only take about a gallon before shutting off the pump. I did a little research, and reasoned it was related to the evap canister. When I got home, I...

New to New Mexico.. Any good shops?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it is very big change (apart from the heat). Although, no humidity is nice. I was thinking I will likely have to drive up to Albuquerque , I'll give them a call. Nice duramax BTW!

New to New Mexico.. Any good shops?

Hi guys, I just moved to Las Cruces from Florida. I need to re-gear my C1500. Any recommendations for a reputable shop that can set up new gears and an eton truetrac?
