6.0 or diesel? Need help

Got a 98 4dr 2wd I want to make 4wd and swap in a diesel or a 6.0 gas. Have a nv3500 looking for a nv4500 but not sure if I should get a dodge or gm one. Dodge is easier to find here

305 tb spacer headers full exhaust and intake. Took the 35s off put 265s on with little change the motor is ****. Had a 350 in my other truck I was going to use but sold it. Come spring It's getting parked.. 6.0 and sas swap

1999+ dash and cluster in a 1996??

Thinking about doing this swap along with the 6.0. anyone do it yet? will my door panels work with the new dash?

Update. i put stock 17s on from a newer silverado and it kinda holds 5th just still no power really its a slow climb in speed. so I'm pretty sure my 5.0 is worn out. time for a swap also.. anyone on here have 35s on their truck what gears do you have. if I'm swapping them I might as well do it right

1st through 4th isn't terrible even with the 5.0 and whatever gears it has. Just 5th sucks. Hopefully the 350 a few addons and a tune fixes that

I have no problem sinking money into this truck as I have other vehicles to drive if I need to. I'll probably just regear my front diff and upgrade the rear to a 14 bolt. Throw in the 350 with headers cold air intake and full exhaust. Have a tune done and maybe a cam. I tow vehicles from time to...

The Denali had 325 stock. Also had a/c delete and intake. I know they aren't the same thing. But i just meant as far as the power that had. It got up and went quick and towed whatever I put behind it

Also should I bother getting gears for a 10 bolt or should I get a used 14 semi float then upgrade the gears. If 4.10 will do i can get a 14 s/f in 4.10

Ok so let's say it's still the stock 3.73 I'm keeping my trans. Nv 3500 adding a 5.7 with headers exhaust and intake. It's a daily driver with mild/ heavy towing rarely. What ratio should I use?
