    Well, my truck is completely stock. The previous owner replaced the ECM with a new rebuilt. He says it's in safe mode and needs to be flashed to the truck. Can I send it off to them for this? Probably a little cheaper?

    How much does that cost if you don't mind me asking? I have a new ECM in my truck that has not been flashed yet. So my truck only runs in safe mode right now. I found someone local who can make a house call and flash it for $150.

    So I goggled it and discovered the OBDII port shares a fuse with the lighter. Found it and it was bad. Replaced it and know the reader works. Showing misfire cylinder 8. It has new plugs and wires.

    It was a 350 Vortec and automatic like mine. Gears may or may not be same. Probably though. But here is a new twist. Just got back from Autozone to get codes pulled. His code reader would not power up. He says check the fuses and or wiring. I guess that's next.

    Thanks for having me. I'm a big Camaro/Firebird fan but I've wanted a 88-98 style C1500 for a while. So last week I traded a 91 Trans Am for a 96 Z71. You will see me posting lots of questions because it's not running right. I hope I didn't get screwed.
