2nd and 4th gear noise

getrag 5 speed, first noticed it when i drained trans fluid (was overfilled by about a quart) and put recommended amount in ~2.25 quarts. Now when i'm in 2nd or 4th, i hear a "shhhhhh" when both idling/driving. Whats going on? thinking about trying to overfill it again

What transmission do i have?

I have a '93 chevy c1500 with a 4spd+OD. From what I hear it should be a nv3500, but my chilton manual (88-93) mentions nothing about the nv3500- only the nv4500. The "84mm" looks similar, but i've heard there are a couple different transmissions with different designs. The housing is stamped...
