Alright, so what im trying to do here is turn the 350 vortec in my 98 k1500 into either a tbi setup or carbeurated setup. I heard theres a harness from the main engine harness to make this possible. Can anyone help me in the direction im going or tell me that this is a no-go? I have no...
You know, just because I didn't know if that was the spindle or not, has nothing to do with my ability to do the swap to my truck. I really doubt that you knew everything there was to know about an axle just out of nowhere, that's the point of the questions I'm asking. No one ever said I was...
Thanks. I've looked it up. Someone who had the axle before me had hit the hub with a hammer, I can not pull the clutch gear out because where it was hit with the hammer, the metal was bent downward. I've hit it with a hammer to round it back out. Does anyone how how I can round it back out?
Or how about we help someone that's trying to learn instead of being a smartass. That sure would help now wouldn't it? You can't have a single forum that you ask for help on and end up with someone being a smartass, never fails.
If I buy just an empty dana 44 housing, get it completely rebuilt (brakes, etc) do I have to put axle shafts and gears in it since it won't have a front driveshaft, can it wait till I get the new front driveshaft, or are the gears and axle shafts needed for daily.driving
I've talked to a few people about how long it took them to do the swap. Some say a week or 2 of full days of work and some said a weekend was it for them. My problem is this is my daily driver. I can only be out of work for 3 days. If I have everything prepared, can it be done in 3 with 2 people?
I know the front needs to be lengthened, but that's not on the top of my list at the moment. I'm not putting on the front DS till it gets lengthened. I'm more worried about the rear. Don't want my drive shaft to fall out going down the higway
I've been talking to a guy with the ord kit and he's lifted 15 inches front 12 rear and he's running the stock driveshaft no problem. I'm assuming (open to be told differently lol) I can keep the stock driveshaft. Ord sells shock mounts for my truck. So all I need is brackets, springs, shocks...
I've tried every string of words in the search to try to find answers but I couldn't find anything, but if yall want to flame me go for it lol. Since I'm doing 38s, I've decided to leave the world of ifs since it will be a daily driver and 38s are going to kill my suspension. I have a few...
I was orginally wanting 4.88s for my 38s, but seeing that my rpms at 70 would be 2000, I'm starting to look at 4.56. The 4.56 would put me about stock gear ratio (3.73) but I'm afraid it's not enough for riding in town. What would yall do?
