I have an Eaton true track in my 97, with 373s. Thing is, I'm running 275/60/15 tires. The 373s on that OE, or close to the same high as OE tires are grate. You could always sale you 373s. As for the posi, you should be able to just swap the gear set. If you don't know how to do the rear end...
Yes, exactly. Life time warranty. Just fire up the new starter. It works grate. Just have to put the heat shield back on, over it. The new starter sounds totally different. Listing to it, compared to the old ones, is night and day. The old one was definitely on its last leg. Also with the new...
Ok, I got a starter from AutoZone, BC they were the only one, who had one in stock. The manual starter cone, or tip, is smaller, and made of steel, or cast iron, not aluminum. Also as I mentioned, the bolt holes are recessed, for shorter bolts.
The manual starters have shorter bolts. About 1 inch shorter. The hole that the bolt goes into on the starter is not flush with the starter on both sides on a manual transmission starter. It is recessed on the side, where the bolt head is. IDK why just yet, but I'm going to figure it out today...
Well, I guess I'm m not going to the JY tomorrow. I didn't realize that there is a different between a starter for an automatic transmission, and a manual transmission. I have a 4 speed manual in the Vette. All of the mini starters I have looked at, have some bad reviews and almost all of them...
Today, I traced the battery cable back from the starter, to the battery. Yes, I understand that there is no way to look inside of the wires, rubber shielding to see exactly what shape it's in, but after 42 years of dealing with welding leads, most of the time, a bad cable, will be swollen where...
Heat soak issues. So the car spins a little slow, but starts fine, when the engine is cold. Example. Monday, I went to a store, that sales lunch plates. Grate food, and inexpensive too. Car was cold, when I left in it. Let it warm up to 160+ and go into open loop, as Holley says to do, with the...
Yes, it's a staggered starter. Just installed the heat blanket. That didn't help. Guess I'm replacing the starter. As for the HEI, that's long gone. It has the Holley sniper set up, with the Holley hyperspark distributor. All controlled by the sniper system.
15° BTDC. That's where Holley says it need to be, for the sniper system. I spent some time on the phone yet with there tech department. We went through some idle issues and did some resetting on the system. Car is starting good, when it's cold. Going wrap the starter rite now.
I definitely will wrap it with a heat blanket. It has a metal heat shield on it now, but that's not really do the job. The old starter is still working, untill it gets hot. Thought I would wrap it first, and see what happens. It isn't easy to pull it off the engine. The header is in the way, big...
Ok, so this is my issue. It is on my 1979 Corvette, not my truck, but my Vette, has its OE 4 bolt main, 350 in it. The LT headers are very close to the starter. It has a metal heat shield, but it is almost touching the header. The starter definitely has heat soak issues. So, here is my question...
A coworker, makes some signs with plexiglass. He did them for me. I blasted them, in the beed blaster, and put LEDs behind them. Then I wired them in to the courtesy lights, so they come on, when you open the door, with the doom light, and go off with it.
I used Duplicator, vinal fabric paint. It is a perfect match on my 97. I tried some SEM, and had issues with it. Walmart was selling it several years ago. Your local auto parts store, should carry it, but worse case, you can order it.
The aluminum banners, have clear coat on them, from the factory. I stripped that off with some aircraft paint stripper. Then I polished out the aluminum. After wiping the letters down with some alcohol, and taping it off, I spray painted the letters, black. Honesty, it is work to keep the...
Welcome to the forum. Ok, here is a pic of my cat. Like you, I have had both cats and dogs. A cat is a lot easier to take care of. Having a dog, is grate, but, it's like having a child. It needs a lot of attention. Also, like you I recently retired, ( last month) I have had my truck since 2002...
Yeah, I see it too. It's something that
@Shaggy will have to look into. If I click on the little white dot, top left, it goes away, at least for a little while. Pop-ups like that, is one of the things I really hate about the Corvette forum. It's full of them, no matter what you do.
