Most paint jobbers want the WA# WA-XXXX for GM products. Usually on the bottom row on the tag in the glove box. Like Bob, I also never bought paint by the color name in 35 + years.

You need the paint code at a paint jobber, the mix formulas are indexed that way and the color name is really irrelevant.

I don't have a WA-XXXX code on either of my '99 or my '96 silverado.\
I wonder if this is because they are Canadian built trucks.

Onxy black
light pewter metallic
indigo blue metallic
dark carmine red metallic
medium blue-metallic
victory red
dark copper metallic
summit white
emerald green metallic
conventional two tone (rpo zy2) then noted there is 19 two tone combinations.
IIRC Chevy calls it "light pewter " and GMC calls it " light autumnwood metallic " but it's kind of a champagne color to me. I think gm got a good deal on that color cause other than black or white that's the most common. Both my Burbs are that color.

Also I think the lighter colors may have been more popular in the south and southwest because they don't get as hot. When my family got our first 99 Burb we had to learn the license plate # quickly because this color was everywhere on these trucks, this was in 2005 so they weren't too old yet. Still pretty popular 15 years later!
