I've got a melling 22301 camshaft that was ordered for another project but never used. I've thought about putting this in my 97 suburban, will the stock computer handle it? I've searched but can't find if this cam will play well with the computer

Thanks in advance

Yes. What Kenny said. It will fit in there but it won't really work. You won't like the results of trying to run that on the factory tune.

I understand the factory tune would be less than satisfactory, I should have phrased my question a little better.

I thought flat tappet cams would go in a roller block but you would have to use pushrods, timing set ect for a flat tappet.

I probably should have asked if the stock black box pcm can be tuned to use it, or if I would need to swap to a 0411 to be able to tune it, I've always been told 96/97 pcms aren't very friendly when it comes to tuning
