The Denali had 325 stock. Also had a/c delete and intake. I know they aren't the same thing. But i just meant as far as the power that had. It got up and went quick and towed whatever I put behind it

This seems to have gotten a little of course, so to try to bring it back, I feel like if you would be happier if you did the original idea. A 350 with mild upgrades should do you just fine, at least a great place to start. If its still doesn't feel exactly like you want that's when I would start thinking about gears.

reason I say engine 1st I because if I was going to do anything to the gears I would just swap the rear and do a SAS for the front rather then drop $$$ on re gearing the IFS front.

If your towing that much with this truck and that concerned with its performance maybe it shouldn't be on 35's, and it's not gonna perform like the 6.0 did in your other truck unfortunately.

Swap the 350 into since you have it. Get the swap and little bugs out of the way then next I would say take care of the gears. If you are towing that much then the 14 sf wouldn't be a bad idea. 4.56 gears at minimum with either rear end. Also depending on the weight in tow you may need to upgrade the brakes?!

I ran 33's with factory GT4 gears and a 4L60E, with an L31 350. Then with a warmed over L31 350. It was a turd. Do you hear me? A TURD. Nothing compares to the mechanical advantage of torque multiplication through proper drive ratios. 45 cubic inches are not going to get this truck out of the hole with a trailer.

SAS Pro's:
Articulation
Strength

SAS Con's:
Ride quality
Cost

The swap is involved. The front end of the truck has to be gutted down to the frame, then "re-made" with drivetrain, steering and suspension.

With all your expectations you may be better off finding a different truck, more money for a 3/4 or 1 ton truck upfront will probably end up saving you money in the long run. When you start looking at doing axle swaps, gear ratio changes, and engine transplants you are going down an expensive road. And it still probably wont tow all that well depending on the trailer you plan to tow. What sort of maximum weight are we talking here?

And Slowburb is right, force to the ground all that matters here. A 350 just isn't going to have the torque to adequately accelerate a heavy load when those gears are paired with 35's. You need diesel torque numbers to run 3.73's with 35's.

I have no problem sinking money into this truck as I have other vehicles to drive if I need to. I'll probably just regear my front diff and upgrade the rear to a 14 bolt. Throw in the 350 with headers cold air intake and full exhaust. Have a tune done and maybe a cam. I tow vehicles from time to time on a flat trailer. So 5-10,000 lbs between trailer and vehicle probably closer to 8000 at most
