Just a thought but did you replace the pilot bearing? If so did you try it on the main shaft on the nv4500 first?

A new pilot bearing came with the clutch kit I had installed a few years ago when I had a new engine installed. I'm assuming the shop I had do the engine install put it in the new flywheel. This NV4500 is not the same transmission that was there when the engine was installed though.

I think I'm going to have that throwout bearing, the fork, and pivot ball all changed out. They are the only original parts left in the shifting mechanism.

Picked the truck from the shop this morning. After a new clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, throwout bearing, clutch fork, and pivot ball it shifts as smooth as butter! The clutch pedal stroke is smooth going in and out and takes less effort to push on as well.
