This'll be my last GMT400, I swear!
Thanks man!
I started thinking about the egg crate thing when I read that, and couldn't get it out of my head. I tried to let it grow on me, but it's just not working... every time I walked toward my truck I couldn't help but think of a giant egg crate on the front LOL. I decided to go with the 88-93 GMC one off a junker to match the dual headlights, keeping it oldschool. I've got new side markers coming in Friday from work so hopefully that'll tie the rest of it together.
Also stripped off the plastidip and fender flares. (The body lift is so much less noticeable without black rockers, but is still coming off in March). The weather's starting to ease up so I think I'll try my hand at paint-matching and buffing out the paint where the trim discolored/removed it.
Also, out of curiosity I dyno'd this thing and sweet jesus, I didn't know so many horses could escape per year. Pulling 136 HP and 220 TQ at 3800 RPM peak .
Been rebuilding an OEM throttlebody, flow matching injectors, collecting factory air intake assembly pieces, etc... seeing what gives me most power and MPG bang for my buck. 75 lost horses and 10 mpg isn't sitting right with me.
I know the 285s have a lot to do with it, but that's pretty unacceptable.
