Being that I have a '98 the universally accepted solution to fix sloppy steering, the JK shaft, is out of the question for me. I have been eyeing the Dorman 425-185 replacement shaft as one of my next pickups but can't find anyone who has written any information on it.

Does anyone have experience with this product?

I had taken the tips from Steve and got the flaming river u-joint. I will be attempting the installation today.

Any word on the fitment of that dorman part red97k1500?

yes i have had the dorman installed for a week or two now.the fit was good i did not have to do any grinding or fileing on it. i read some amazon reviews were a couple of guys said they had to take a file to it but that was not the case for me

I tore everything down and although my rag joint indeed needs to be replaced, and will be with that u-joint, my steering gear had significant play in it as well. I've got everything out of the truck and sitting on the bench.

I'll be slicing, dicing, and bolting things back into place in a coming weekend
