hi, i am about to get tires and i want to get the 275-60/15 tires that the 454 SS silverados came with, a 4-6 drop is probly about a year away since i want to get the body and paint work done first, my question is: did the 454 ss trucks come with the same ride height as my ecsb? if they did i will definitely be getting those tires, but if they came lower i dont want to have my big truck looking like its riding around on tiny little tires while i wait to lower it lol, any info would be awesome! i just dont want to spend all this money to have my truck look silly for a year

Our trucks did come a little lower, some people say 2" in the rear. I don't know if it's a full 2" and can't really confirm as I bought my truck with a 2/4 drop already on it. I think your best bet would be the OBS static drop thread on here and GMFS.

Yeah, i have to agree with VA455SS, those trucks are my all time Favorite trucks, ive done lots of research on them over the years, im almost 99.9% sure that they came stock with the same ride height as any other 2WD short bed truck, the only differentce was better shocks and stuff for better handling, could be wrong. but im pretty sure lol

Yea VA knows his stuff, and that lines up with all of them I've ever seen and info I've read about. I know they came with a "suspension package" but from the pictures I've seen they are stock height or at least very close to it.

Now you guys have me wondering. Not saying you're wrong. You know more about these trucks than I do, but here's a couple pix of a one owner, ultra low mileage, so damn original it hurts, SS.

And a couple of pix of my '97 the day I got it. Stock height.

Now here it is on a 2/4 drop. Just looks to me that this is pretty close to the SS, with mine being a little lower in the front.

So...do you guys figure that the SS has been lowered? Or at stock height?
I do realize that the SS is on a bit of a side hill & that one rear wheel is sitting lower than the other.

That SS is not factory. It is definitely dropped in the rear. Here's one at stock height.
