In general, disabling the EGR is illegal, and often causes detonation problems. It will set a code. You will not be happy until the computer gets reprogrammed.

Dont stop until it sounds expensive
like others have stated would need a remap in order for the engine to run properly... Is this a " i need to get it home fix" or somthing deeper?

Thanks all. I am changing to full length headers and do not have bung for tube. reprogram is fine
