92 c1500 with 5.7 and a/c. The rear ear on the alternator bracket broke off last night while trying to install my new powermaster 140 amp alternator. how hard is it to do the alternator bracket? I just poked around and it looks like i'm removing most of the front end of the motor and radiator shrouds? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You need to remove the fan shroud, fan, and the power steering pump. The power steering pulley has to come off and it is pressed onto the pump, then you can remove the alternator bracket. You do not have to disconnect the power steering hoses.

Probably had the same problem as the OP back in 2016 and searched for the fix and found this old thread. It is a pain but at least you can leave the motor mounts connected, lol.

ROFL, aint that the truth. Thanks for reminding me it could always be worse, like a big asteroid heading my way or something slightly more crappy.

They're brittle aluminum. Look at em wrong and they'll crack or cross thread. or both if you're feeling froggy. lol
Still looking for a part number, if someone has one. Apparently the old part number has been superseded, haven't found an answer.

How much do they go for? I’ve got two full sets.

What’s the part number? I find the superseded part numbers easily.
