Should the fuel lines going into the intake manifold wiggle?

I am trying to fix a problem I was having with my old headers on my 99 5.7 but when I was installing the new driver side header I bumped those fuel lines and they wiggled. It seems like this plate is forcing them down so they don't come out but it seemed strange for them to not have a solid connection. I hope they haven't been leaking. Is some play/wiggle normal for these fuel lines dropping into the intake?

Thanks!

Bryce

Mine are tight (98 350). The plate has tabs that face down. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much! Are they tight because of the plate pressing down on them or are they secured down on their own do you think?

I did the multiport swap on my truck (photo is on my Tahoe with stock injectors) and I think I remember the lines just pushing or maybe snapping down into the body with spacers and o-rings. I want to say the plate held them down as they wanted to lift up a little. They weren’t trying to spring up or anything like that.

From alldata, the torque on the plate nuts was 27 in-lb so it wasn’t much.

There is the retainer clip with 2 bolts as shown above and a single bolt on the rear of the intake that secure the fuel lines. If it's wiggling those are what to look for.
