Here I am again! '97 Yukon "drifting"?

Thanks a bunch guys. I may just replace the leaf springs and bushings right along with the shocks. Forgot to mention how much the back end sags when the gas tank is full. It's sad.

Here I am again! '97 Yukon "drifting"?

So here goes. You notice when you romp on it from a dead stop your back end slides to one side? That seems to be the case with my Yukon at highway speeds (and I gaurantee with that unmanly 235 horses my tires are NOT breaking loose). I know my rear shocks are toast, but I'm guessing a driveline...

    97' Yukon fuel gauge problem

Yes. When the truck sits still the needle reads fine. It's only when I accelerate and brake that it swings back and forth. Once I'm at speed, the needle settles again and doesn't move.

    97' Yukon fuel gauge problem

Here I am again guys, and here's the situation. The fuel gauge needle swings wildly under acceleration, braking, taking corners, etc. If I'm not mistaken, 1997 was the ONLY year that the trucks had a "fuel damper module kit" added inside the gauge cluster. Apparently GM was too cheap to put...

Another Non Typical no start issue with my '97 Yukon

Thanks again east302, she's runnin' like a champ again. I know if you wouldn't have replied, I would have just sat there cranking on that thing, ending in a horrific fit of rage. Now for the next problem. I'll be starting another quick thread on it.

Another Non Typical no start issue with my '97 Yukon

So I did test fuel pressure - right at 62 psi. No bleed off. But as it got really warm here during the weekend, my truck was running worse, and I did catch a little black smoke coming from the exhaust, so I'm running rich. I'm thinking coolant temp sensor, seeing as how the truck runs really...

Thanks again for all the info east302. I'll be picking up the gauge on Friday.

Another Non Typical no start issue with my '97 Yukon

Thanks again. What psi am I supposed to get? I know this isn't mpi, so the pressure shouldn't be as high, in my mind anyway.

Another Non Typical no start issue with my '97 Yukon

Thanks for the replies guys. east302, I should have been more specific. All it takes is a little bit of the gas pedal and then she runs and idles fine. TruckinAin4Sissies I'll definitely have to get a gauge. Is there a shrader valve I can tap into?

Another Non Typical no start issue with my '97 Yukon

I won't complain a whole lot, I only paid $1850 for the truck, but here's my problem. Vehicle starts great, gets to operating temp, then if I stop at a gas station or grocery store for a few minutes, the truck will act like it's going to turn over but won't unless I step on the gas. Spark plugs...

    Good morning...

Brand new to the site. I've heard soooo many good things about this site I decided to join and get help from the experts. I currently have a 1997 Yukon SLT 4 door 4x4 that could use a little TLC. But I need to know where to look. One major problem is the module kit for the fuel gauge (part...
