14 Bolt Swap How to
I literally just finished my 14 bolt swap in last night.me and my buddy Scotty put the tools away an cleaned up at just before midnight ! Haha whew.the best part was when everything lined up and my driveshaft angle, that had been so horrendously steep(17°!) An was just chewing my u-joints up now...- stepside90

I 100% agree with ya man.that engine has had ota fair share of problems thru the years.ive read bout them all.i appreciate your breakdown of it and all the headaches.it made me reakize even more that im not building this for a monster engine project.i want it for the ease of swap as everything...- stepside90

Thats a nice looking truck! Have you done any upgrades to it? So it has the 4L80..interesting.random fact, the donor truck i bought that has the 6.2 in it..its a 700R4! I would have never guessed they used that tranny.was running rpo codes an discovered that. Kept plucking away at tearing parts...- stepside90

Alright, finally have an update for this thread! I have the 6.5 torn down and ready to start the rebuild..but the major good thing thats happened is tgat ive found a 91 chevy 2500 light-duty with a 6.2 diesel that i can use for the donor truck for all the parts i need(mechanical injection...- stepside90

XJ Steering Shaft Upgrade (88-94 Trucks) 95+instructions on page 31
Alrighty, got it done! Looks like the limited shaft works.mine was a bit of a #&@$ to get apart but managed to coax it into submission. I actually put the shaft in a vice, heated it up as instructed, and used a wrench around the lower piece of the shaft and hit it with the hammer. Saved...- stepside90

Ok, I grabbed one today..for the life of me the dang thing wouldn't separate tho.I didn't want to beat the out it an break somethin so I left it alone. Exactly how are you guys getting yours apart and where are you hammering/prying/etc- stepside90

Ok, so the question I have is does it have to be an XJ? There are a couple Jeeps in the Pick N Pull around here but they are a Cherokee limited and one is a Wagoneer(same body style and such) The shafts look the same as in the pictures- stepside90

Lift Kits?
The lift is in! Still on 33s til I get some money together for 35s. I'm gonna probably see if I can grab the torsion bars/lower control arms from a 3/4 ton and put in the aftermarket torsion keys and level it out real nice.ill post some pics this weekend!- stepside90

Well just as an update for the thread I think I might have found a nv4500..still in a truck! Diesel already too.A '94 GMC 3500HD. So Ill have a donor truck for a bunch of the guts ill need to do the swap right! Gonna try and get the guy to come down on the price tho. And its still too warm here...- stepside90

Excellent! Thats awesome to know.And no i wish.No 14bolt in it.sigh lol hey while on the subject of diffs..what are the differences in the front diffs between half-ton and 3/4& 1? Can I not just steal the front and rear diffs out of a 3/4ton or 1 ton and bolt them in?- stepside90
