I still haven't had anymore issues since replacing the starter and battery, but I'm going to check the battery cable anyways. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for checking on that for me. I think it might be the plunger on my original starter since it wouldn't "click", but if everything else looks pretty worn it's probably not worth it

Update: I have replaced the battery and the starter and so far everything is good. The starter that was on it looks to be original, with 190K on it it is probably tired. I think I may try to rebuild it and keep it for a spare. Are the BBC and the SBC starters compatible with each other?

Aftermarket Engine Parts... Are they worth it? Not in my opinion.

I know this has probably been asked before...but caliper upgrades?

6 lug 2500 rotors are the same as 6 lug 1500 rotors (at least as far as 4WD goes). The "Heavy Duty" half ton (9.5 rear ring gear aka semi-float 14 bolt) is the same as the light duty 3/4 ton. This applies to front and rear axles, frame, control arms, etc. I doubt the 1 ton calipers will bolt...

I have owned (and own) quite a few used vehicles, and I expect to have to do some work to them when I first buy them because I have a pretty high standard set for my vehicles, but I have never had one fight me this bad.
