    Which drop spindles?

Necrobump! What did you end up doing?

    The track width doesn't matter.

    Front big brake upgrade, again...

I don't have a build thread. Maybe I'll do one sometime? I think it's a pretty unique build. I have a shop with all the fab equipment I need. A few CNC's, welders, etc. IIRC the GMT800 rack is way too long... Mounts and tierods are the easy part :)

    Front big brake upgrade, again...

There are two part numbers for lower balljoints for 2014+ trucks. The aluminum knuckle, like I have, is a different sized taper. Neither of these will fit into the stock GMT400 arm, you'll need to fab something. There isn't much room inside the knuckle for clearance, so you would want to try...

Just for the record, an f-body rack will result in insane bump-steer. The only dimension that matters is center-to-center of the pivot points on the ends of the actual rack gear. An imaginary line drawn through the upper and lower control arm frame pivots (it's a little more complex than that...

I can dig them up today if I remember... You also need the lower balljoint that GM uses. I couldn't find a suitable aftermarket one, but it might exist somewhere. The GM one is fine, it has a smaller housing so it actually works better in the arm, too.

    Front big brake upgrade, again...

I have all the stock parts, including the knuckles. They are pretty crusty, however. The DJM arms - completely unmodified. I pressed out the balljoint from one of the arms for testing, destroying the joint in the process. But that's it... If you're interested PM me your info and I'll get a...

    Front big brake upgrade, again...

I used a C2500 OBS rear axle, so it's the 2wd narrower model. I am setting the truck up with some big meats in the back, so the width doesn't affect me either way. I have to look at my notes, but I think the front end width would be OK if you could fabricate the lower BJ stuff on the stock OBS...

    Front big brake upgrade, again...

I'm using the 2014+ aluminum knuckle (and wheels) from a 4wd truck on my 2wd truck. The upper control arm fits without isuse, but the LCA does not. The lower bj doesn't fit the knuckle, so I am using a GM 2014+ bj. But you have to do some kind of fab to get the new balljoint working with the...

    Front big brake upgrade, again...

I haven't finished it, had to finish up some things on the engine. It's a big project with a lot going on and not enough time in the day to work on it...

    Front big brake upgrade, again...

The RnP involves some fab work - the front of the crossmember under the engine gets cut off and plated flat. I don't want to set it up until I know exactly where the arms end up. FWIW I decided not to use the DJM arms. They don't seem to fit the frame mounts correctly, and I don't like the...

    Front big brake upgrade, again...

Yes, I will post some pix this weekend. I ended up buying DJM lowers arms and machining a "puck" to adapt the ball joint that fits the new knuckle. The stock arm could work, but it would need a good bit trimming off the very end of the arm. I have a set of DJM uppers coming, but the stock...

    Front big brake upgrade, again...

I have done quite a bit of experimenting and measuring, but the front won't be complete for another couple weeks. I just got the new 6-lug wheels today, actually.

    Front big brake upgrade, again...

I did some test fitting today: The lower ball joint can be flipped, and it's the same taper angle, but it's not the same diameter. I'll need to find another balljoint that fits the knuckle, or I can ream the knuckle larger. The LCA also needs to have around 1/4" ground off the very outside...

    Front big brake upgrade, again...

I'm not trying to piss anyone off, but post after post suggesting the wrong stuff confirmed why I tend to stay out of forums nowadays and made me regret posting at all. If a guy with almost 10,000 posts can't handle honest criticism that's his problem. To suggest I am a newbie in any way other...
