NBS Denali wheels and Fuzion tires

Well the Suburban isn't a DD, just occasional use and possibly foul weather transport (though snow is somewhat rare here), so my basic thought was to avoid some expense get tires better than the well worn ones I have, and maybe get some wheels I liked. But if the Fuzions are useless in general...

NBS Denali wheels and Fuzion tires

I didn't see a wheel and tire section and this seemed like the closest one.. 2 unrelated questions. Our 99 K1500 Suburban is needing tires soon-ish. I got a quote of $608 for Firestone Destination A/T which is probably the route I'll go if I just do new tires. But I had kind of wanted to go...

    Recommend me some brake components

Just curious what brake components (brand/model) have worked well for all. Our 99 K1500 Suburban is due, I've been putting it off as it's not driven often. Mostly used for highway trips, but may end up with some RV duty. I was looking at the PowerStop Z36 kit, but I've always shied away from...

    Brake noise

Rock Auto gives option of different front pads depending on rear drum of 10 or 11.. Oh well, just wonder what the 10" version fits. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Brake noise

Dumb question, but I'm looking up pads/shoes and I see different p/n for FRONT pads depending on REAR drum diameter. Does that make sense? Furthermore, how do I know which rear diameter I have? Bendix gives me a choice of 10" or 11" rear drum, O'Reilly shows 11" or 13".

    Brake noise

Planning to go on the lift this Saturday to find out what's going on for sure but wanted to get some ideas first. 99 K1500 Suburban First noticed a low grinding sound when coming to a stop. Have now noticed a constant metallic scraping sound at any speed with/without brake application...

    The Stupid Axle Questions Thread

It's 4x4, yes would have to do the front eventually too (would just pull front driveshaft if I couldn't do it all at once). Well I was just looking at 3.73 since that was the only other factory option for the K1500, and I expect the towing duty to be rare. Another stupid question... I have...

    The Stupid Axle Questions Thread

I'm considering re-gear of our 99 Suburban to 3.73 from 3.42, as we might be getting a travel trailer and the extra towing oomph would be nice. Just looking on Craigslist it looks like I can get a whole rear axle for around what it would cost to re-gear the current axle, and while I suppose...

Combined weight rating of K1500 Suburban

I'm not sure what you mean by "little trucks" or what that spec sheet is supposed to indicate? K1500 Suburban is still based on a full size truck. If it's GVWR+tow rating that puts it at a 12,300 lb GCWR, but it's unusual to be loaded to gvwr and towing a trailer. Here's the list for 2016...

Combined weight rating of K1500 Suburban

Hi All, I'm having trouble with something. My FIL is considering purchasing a camping trailer, that he would let us use from time to time. He has a 2010 F-150 that apparently has a tow rating around 10,000lb (9800 or 11,300 depending on which rear end it has), but per our owner's manual with...

    Pitman/idler arm replacement

Well I don't know if the steering box is a problem, just figured after 205k miles if I had to remove it to do pitman arm I'd rather go ahead and do a new box... Now if I can do pitman without removing steering box I'd try that first..

    Canyon/Colorado Wheels?

Just wondering if 6 lug Canyon/Colorado wheels work for a 6 lug GMT400? http://www.ebay.com/itm/SET-OF-4-OEM-2015-2016-GMC-CANYON-18-WHEELS-RIMS-22901344-/191808494420 These seem to be plentiful and relatively cheap. Pondering going to 18" wheels as a good point to get a little better road...
