    I also had a 98 grille in my 89, but the filler doesn't bolt to the core support like a stock 98 would.

    The grille filler doesn't bolt to it correctly. You can use a long screw and a huge stack of washers or something but I'm not looking to hillbilly stuff up on this thing. But in any event I went on autotrader and got a vin, I'll call the dealership we get our parts from tomorrow and give them...

    I would use some kind of magnaflow. I had a di/do 18" on my 89 when it had the 350. Sounded pretty good for an old anchor with no power.

    Did it spin when it was out of the truck? Sounds like the converter wasn't seated all the way in the pump.
