Why does every one hate the 700r4???

I was thinking of putting the 700r4 behind my 454 and it seems like everyone hates it, why is this??? because i have that tranny behind my built 350 with about 520 HP and it has held up perfect so far

awesome thanks and yea i just got it and havent dug into it much and thought i just read that the had the 400 but if it has the 4L80 then i will def keep that. I will take a look over that that other forum, thanks for the help

Awesome, thats good to know, i wasnt even thinking about the flywheel but i will have to talk to summit or someone to figure would a combo that will work :)

400 is just a goal number, so when i start to get into the truck i have something to work for on a performance base. And i want to upgreade the engine so that it is running upto its optimun performance. I was planning on doing a 700r4 to put behind it cause i love that tranny and it has...

Sweet thanks, is that what you have on your truck in the pic because i really like the syance of the truck alot and it still have some clearence it looks like and i need that cause i we have alot of speed bumps on base

I have a 1991 SS 454 and i was wondering if it would be easy to get 400HP out of it and about how expensive it might cost, anyone have an idea or thought on this. Thanks for the help in advance

91 SS 454

What would be the best lowering kit to use on a 1991 silverado ss 454? I dont want to slam it to the ground just lower it a little bit for a better stance and a little less body roll but i dont want to lose all the comfort of the ride. Any suggestions?
