This is what I've been doing.
What got me wondering was that as of recently I've seen a handful of trucks with them rolled up and no cargo protruding above the bed sides.
Obviously I have no idea what they were doing/hauling but it just got me wondering.
Didn't know if it was due to UV rays...
So I'm pretty new to tonneau covers. I have an access cover on my RCSB. What are your opinions on leaving them rolled up vs covering the bed?
I think it makes the truck look better covering the bed but any opinions/experiences on what's better for the cover rolled out or rolled up?
I installed this the other day just as the OP did. (Awesome write up by the way, took any question out of what I was doing.) Cord wrapped up in the ash tray, switch routed to the far right side of the glove box through a hole. Its kinda divided so it should keep it separate from all my crap...
@SkyHighColorado-
Thanks for the help. A little elbow grease and she's looking much better.
The compound I had felt way to aggressive when rubbed between my fingers so I got the turtle wax you suggested. Worked great!!

Thanks guys. The fender crunch was a bummer. It was actually my dad who did it. He was more upset than I was.
If anything it just sped up getting rid of the old foggy headlights and markers.
This forum has been a huge help. Can't really say it's saved me any money but it has saved a lot...
This is how my 97 looked the day I drove her home. 5.0 (wish it was the 5.7) Auto transmission.
Leveled the rear with a set of 2" drop shackles.
Got backed into. So much for an all original truck.
Repair in process
Got a pretty close match on paint. Not perfect but neither is the...
It's smooth. It almost appears to have stained the clear if that's possible...it has me concerned that it won't come out.
I have some turtle wax rubbing compound. Its about the color of a red brick, hopefully its not too aggressive.
I'll approach it cautiously as you recommend. At a...
I've pulled all plastic molding, and big Chevrolet badge off the tailgate. All the glue is gone but surrounding where the badges used to be is a dark "ring"
Is there any way to get this removed? Wet sand or polishing compound?

So I'm planning on installing the PAC AAI-GM9 in my truck here shortly.
I'm thinking that while I have the dash half tore down why not look into why I'm not getting cool air circulation. When turned to cold the air coming out of my vents always seems to be a little warmer than the outside air...
This is very true. What one person likes can cause another to scratch their head and say "What the!!?!"
If we all liked the same things the aftermarket industry would be a lot smaller.
I do understand being indecisive, though decisions decisions.
Lose them...mine also came with a set similar. They were the first thing to go along with the goofy graphic someone added to the side.

I know this to be an issue with my 97. Do they just pull out of the dash?? The main reason I haven't changed them was I though I had to pull the whole dash.
