    Did you ever get this solved? Our 1990 head unit is flaking out on us again and I can get 1994 units all day long for cheap. The 5 button version is rare and harder to find for replacement.

    We're running a 1992 4L80e from a 454 suburban on my son's 1990 K1500 with a 5.3 ls swap. Nelson performance did the tune and built the harness. Works fine.

    The sensor is new as of 2 years ago. It wouldn't pass emissions previously as the sensor connector was burnt.

    I did test the EGR with a vacuum source in addition to following compressed air tests from that site as well. It did hold vacuum, and it did open when vacuum was applied.

    Bed Rail/Tailgate Covers - Brands/Opinions?

    We put the wade version on my son's truck. Fit was nice and look great with his retrax bed cover. My only complaint is that they did not come with enough 3m tape to really secure them to the truck. Since the bed cover traps them, we haven't fixed that issue yet...

    Going to be running RCX 4 inch. Are shocks worth it?

    We've got the the RCX shocks on my son's truck and they are alright. It rides pretty nice with them. We do have tall tires and smaller rims so the tires help our ride. (33's with 15 inch rims)

    door handles

    I agree. Used aftermarket handles on my son's truck and they were plastic, not metal. The lock cylinder broke on the drivers side and fell into the door. We ended up repainting the OEM handles, installing new springs and gaskets and put it all back together. Pain in the butt for sure.

    Steering Gear Replacement

    We replaced our steering shaft with the Borgeson unit. Expensive but the truck now feels better than new. We also replaced the steering gearbox with an AGR unit.
