    Does oil fill this area in the pic above ? Or just a little drip past the drivers side gear? I fixed mine but a little oil drips past the axle seal on the passenger side were it gets close to the cv axle.I hope it just from having it jacked up before I refilled it while replacing the drivers...

    I welded the gear to the axle so the clips won't slide out.Works good so far.

    Richard a lot of your past posts have helped me so I gotta ask you something.My 92 clicks turning only in 4wd on the drivers side.The cv boots are fine.About the throw on a new cv anyways You ever see the cv click with good boots in 4x4 only?Thanks, Dan.

    I thought we use no additives/friction modifiers on the rear.Strait oil or you mess up the locker.

    question on my 92 k2500 front axel

    Mines a 92 also.Easiest thing to check first is the passenger axle popping out of the diff.It's the passenger axle tube diff side not the cv axle .The gap looks like this and the 4x4 light wont come on if it slides out.

    Well I got rid of the gm part and installed a posi lock 4x4 wire control.Later my light wouldn't come on and it was my passenger side axle popping out of the diff.See here http://www.gmt400.com/threads/help-with-4x4.39183/

    I'm getting some clicking/popping on the drivers side while in 4x4 turning.Is there a way to test the axle?The boot looks good and it doesn't do it in 2wd.Can anyone explain to me how the 2wd and 4wd axles/hubs work on my 92.Thanks.

    Help with 4x4

    I got my 4x4 working again but now I hear drivers side popping in 4 wheel drive when turning.It doesn't do it in 2wd.It doesn't pop in 4wd going strait.Cv axles look good and the boots are not ripped.Any ideas?

    Well it slid out again driving in 2wd.Is it safe to drive in 2wd with it slid out a bit? Not sure why it keeps sliding out.Maybe the c clip I got from the auto parts store broke.I wonder if I could weld it together? Weld the gear to the axle so it wouldn't slip out.

    I put the washer on the nipple and a new c clip on the gear that goes on the axle.old one was broke in half.
