If the system is under vacuum, and you're saying the refrigerant can isn't emptying... Are you sure you actually pierced the can? Did you turn the can tap back out after piercing the can to open the tap? Is your manifold gauge open to allow refrigerant in?
The first can, or at least part of the...
I have a 97 C3500 with the aux battery setup.
Will a bad aux battery affect the starting battery in any way? I had to jump start my truck last night. This morning my volt meter read 12.4 on both the starting battery and the aux. Was reading about 12.9-13v running. The aux battery smells...
I don't own any lt1 cars anymore, but the 97 motor with the obd1 should be pretty straight forward. I remember it was pretty common practice for guys to swap their obd2 ecu out for obd1 just because there was more tuning options available for obd1. They would swap the obd2 ecu back in just for...
Anyone have any pics of a dually with *only* spindles? I have a 97 c3500 and I'm debating on weather to do the 4.5" eBay spindles, or a 2" spacer lift. Anyone know if I'll need to lift the rear to keep it level with the spindles?
So your suspension is otherwise stock? Maybe I can clear the 265s after all with just coil spacers. You're not running any additional spacers on the front wheels right?
Starting to look like 245/75/16 with small rear spacers is my most sensible option for immediate replacements.
Looks like the only option for spindles for this truck are 4.5" of lift, not really interested in going that tall. Might do the 2" coil spacers but that's it.
I'm mostly just trying...
Wasn't sure of the best place to post this...
I have a 97 C3500, bone stock. Currently running stock size 225/75/16 and wanting to go up to 265/75/16. I know I'll need a spacer in the rear, but wondering if I'll have any rubbing issues up front at stock height?
I've seen a couple of places...
Getting ready to do the lower intake manifold gasket on my 97 big block. Haven't been able to find much info on here, everything I find is for small blocks. I'm trying to gather everything I need before I tear it down, looking for tips on "while you're in there" kind of stuff. A step by step...
For sure. I was actually looking at roadside assistance programs earlier after I posted this. But I'm also one of those guys that likes to be prepared for everything. I used to carry an extra ignition control module and heatsink in my F150.
Roadside assistance is a great fallback, but for...
What are some items you guys would consider "must haves" for your tool kits you keep in your truck? You know, things that would be required for roadside repairs of common issues on these trucks... For example, in my 7.3 IDI Ford I made damn sure to keep a couple of 5/8" open end or line wrenches...
Cool, thanks guys. I was trying to figure out how to get a tune on my 97 without having any downtime. I was going to get a cheap eBay PCM while I sent my original out. But... I went ahead and put in an order with Black Bear, since I won't need a relearn on my new PCM.
I sent an Ebay seller a message asking about their PCMs, and they claim that my 1997 C3500 7.4 does not require a crankshaft relearn procedure after swapping PCMs. They say that only started in 1998, is this true?
Hey guys, new member here. This is my first GM full-size truck... I love it so far! My last 3 full size trucks were an 83 f350, a 94 f250 and a 94 f150 in that order.
I noticed today that my right rear brake is getting hot and smoking. So I am going to jack it up tomorrow and hope it's just...
