Yep it was a direct swap in for me. My truck is a 1997 K1500 4x4 extended cab.

I pulled it from the rear area out of a 98 chevy suburban. Yeah I like the way it looks VS the other one that came with my truck.

Yeah those are all wires I ran. 1 constant 1 parking light 2 switched ignition 3 option wires (for foglights) better to have to many than not enough.

1997 Chevy K1500 4x4 (Will not go into 4 wheel high)

Today I tried the oldest trick in the book and just unhooked the battery for a few hrs, and after doing that the 4wd high works just fine now!!!! Must of needed a reset.

what does it mean when your airbag light on the dash flashes a few times on startup and then stays on. I just bought the truck a month ago, and its always done that. is that normal? Truck is a 1997 Chevy K1500 4x4 Thanks

Oh I just found this info about the mirror. Im going monday morning to the junkyard I saw a few trucks there with the compass/temp/dimming mirror. Well, you need switched 12 volts of power when the ignition is turned on; then you need a ground. Then, if you want the mirror to not dim when you...

I just picked up an overhead console from a 99 Chevy Tahoe in grey. It already had the blank front AC control plate. I will be replacing my saggy headliner at the same time I install the console. On a side note.... If I want to install one of those rear view mirrors with the compass and temp...
