1997 Engine / Transmission Problems
sounds like a CTS or bad fuel pressure. when i had my 4.3l it seems to drive fine but acceleration would suck balls and wouldn't want to get over 60mph or what ever it was unless your going down hill with a tail wind for over a mile. drove that on a 2 hour trip. that was a CTS problem. now...- bobfig

whenever i did mine i left the belt on and used a large crescent wrench and a big hammer and a couple whacks it was loose.- bobfig

Flywheel Swap....Broke today and looking for Ideas
then its not a flywheel its a flexplate. flywheels are for manual transmissions. with that out of the way im not sure on how many teeth you need. but one of these should work...- bobfig

yup i got the hang of it so much that i could do it all in like 15 min. -

you can ether roll it but it takes some time till you get the hang of it as its sorta like a rubix cube best i can say or take the old one out of the old cluster and just swap it in. thats the easiest way as its just a matter of unscrewing it and swapping parts... -

yup it should as it came out of an "Escalade". all it takes is 4 screws and it should drop in. now if you want to change the odometer (good idea too) you will need a torx 15 driver and a flat head screwdriver. -

pmed yup its been laying on its back for 3-4 months. it works since i took it out before selling the truck. i do remember when i turned the truck on it would fling and wiggle and finally land on the level like all the others. if you want another pic in with the needle in the correct spot... -
