Don't know if this has been answered before but I have been looking for red needles for my gauges. Do I have to paint them? Or is there a place that has them. That yellow has to go.

well according to earlier in this post you can remove the yellow with acetone/nail-polish remover or some mild sand paper to give it a frosted look. That just makes it clear though so you'd have to find some kind of translucent paint to make it red... Maybe just a light misting would work such as when one candies a tail light...

my bad... you are correct. There are two T1.5 bulbs in each of the overhead a/c controllers. I was unaware that the LED bulb can be pulled out of the platic twist cap housing. they fit in perfect. I guess that I was just a little tooo excited putting in the LEDs yesterday.

Now I need to place a 3rd order from the magical LED store!!!

I was digging around in my toolbox today and found a baggie of LEDs from an old order I had made years ago with Super Bright. I had 3 blue T1.5s and 4 blue #74s. So, I went out and pulled out the rear a/c panels. At first I thought the 74s were too long, so I pulled the T1.5s out of their twist-lock bases, but with only 3 of those, I gave the 74s a try again and they fit. So now I have blue lighting in the rear a/c panels.

Paint just the backside of the needles. But make sure you don't cover up the clear plastic that is underneath the black knob on the needle, otherwise you'll block the light entering the needle.

New to the forum and so far one of my favorite forums :) I have read 21 pages of this tread.. Some have used the WLEDx-x 90 & 120 and some have used WLEDx-HP5 or 6 for the gauges. I seen alot of pictures but out of most of those pictures no one posted what they actually put into the gauges. Im looking for a good glow but not to overpowering to where it is blinding as i drive down the road. IE: The stock gauges dont catch my attention or glow on my face to where its blinding. So my question is, what LED's do most put in the guages? Im about to make a big order but want to get the right LED's for the gauges.
