If its not raining I'm going to get one today. But the yard I called didn't know what I was talking about and said they usually sell it with the whole column so just so I know, how much are you guys paying for these shafts out of a junkyard and what tools do I need to bring with me to get it out?

I paid 15 or 20 bucks. Takes an 11mm on the bolts. Bring a prybar to pop it off.

Thanks, and on the XJ the top bolt can be gotten to from the outside correct? Or do you have to get to it from under the dash?

Well I went out and bought 3 shafts. 2 are identical and the other is different. Looks like the u joints are bigger and its solid, no play in shaft like the other 2 have like a rubber mount in them. Which to use?

You will need the shaft to extend. Whichever one that has a two piece extendable shaft.

Anyone having issues getting the shafts apart? I soaked the entire thing in PB Blaster and it still won't budge....
