depends on the type of material, the good ones seem to last, cheap plastic will eventualy warp/crack with heat cycles causing a vac leak. id go aluminum and be done with it.

Not so sure about the advantage of a spacer for fuel injection systems.....I put one on my 92 with a TBI and saw a difference but on an FI system I dont see the purpose.

the benefits are to let more air in around the injectors.

I have never seen the alum. one maybe they mean it's the alum. tb or body spacer not injector/ pod spacer.

I agree though I made mine with a thicker gasket or stacked gasket.

I heard the big block tbi rebuild kits come with the spacer already in them.

i bought the complete tbi rebuild kit and it comes with the pod gasket...my old gasket was still good so i stacked the new gasket on top and it works just like the pod spacers do....and its 1/4 thick just like the spacers

my rebuild kit came with 2 gaskets so I stacked them and used them as a spacer, works great.
