I thought I start a new thread on this and bring it back from the dead. I bought this 95 chevy 1/2 ton truck in 96 with 34k miles on it. It was originally an Ext. cab stepside Dixie custom's conversion truck, with all the wood grain and stick on crap you could ever want. It seemed cool in the mid 90's but that didn't last. The truck had many different set's of rim's and was lowered in 4-6 in 97 and I drove it lowered until 02 when I finally got tired enough of tearing various pieces of the truck up to bag it. Here is the way it looked from 02 until 06 besides the fact that i had different rim's.

The truck did not get driven a lot though even when it was still an ext. cab. Well in 06 my wife and I had our first child and I decided then that i needed more room, as my ext. cab seat had been gone for year's to make room for sub's. So with 95k miles I dismantled every piece of the truck to stretch the frame and convert it in to a crew cab stepside and also do an LS motor conversion. Here's some more pic's of it during the process.

A few more detail's about the truck, I did a stock raised floor and a chopper style gas cap in the floor, all handles are shaved, the body line is added in the back of the cab, and I did a 18 inch led across the top of the cab for a third brake light, there is lot's and lot's more. If you have any question's feel free to ask! A couple of the pic's are from when I took it down the road for a drive last year with some crappy steelies on it!

How difficult was the frame stretch. I have no body work experience so I would have to pay to get this done. Would the price of labor totally clean out the bank account to do the same conversion?

Its not the frame stretch thats gonna empty the bank account, its the cab, interior, brakelines, fuel lines, wiring harness, driveshaft and all the small stuff thats gonna add up
