ive been working on GMT400s since I was little, mainly OBD1 trucks. dad has a 92 xcab C1500 Silverado that he bought used in '02 when it had 90,000 miles. weve kept it up as best we can, but its got a few scrapes.
dads powertrane is a TBI 350/700R4/GU6 3.42 10bolt.
this summer were going to replace the cracked dash, and retrofit it with a low miles 4L60E in place of the 200,000 mile 700R4 and change the wiring harness/PCM while we have the dash out. the neighbor was parting out a 94 lwb C1500 and i got the dash, engine wiring harness, PCM, rebuilt trans, windowglass/rubbers, and a few other assorted parts for $225.
my vehicles are a 79 stepside GMC, and an 86 suburban.
