Hopefully I can get the old one rebuilt. After 27 years it deserves it....I've tried those smaller starters one time and couldn't get it to start right. I wonder if I got the wrong one. I've had good experience with the bigger starters. Although they are pretty heavy..
Yup if not, I'll take it to Giddings and let my cousin work on it (or find someone who can).I'm sure somebody in houston will do it.

I used the dead starter from the parts shelf for the core, saved me $25.Glad it's working now. Maybe keep it on hand for a core? Don't know if parts stores charge core fees for starters.
