That swap wont work on a 4x4. You cant swap to 3/4ton suspension. Mounts are set up different. Only option is adapters for the front. You shouldn't have any alignment or balancing issues. Only down fall is that they will act as a spacer too, so you would need spacers or adapters in the back to make them the same width. Most 8-lug guys wish they had the wheel choices that 6-lug guys do, but good luck. Plus, 16.5's don't hold a bead and can't be aired down very much.

That stuff is for a 2wd. I "believe" the upper control arm mount on a 4wd is different from a 6 lug to an 8 lug.....I am 99% positive on this. They only way to 8 lug the front is SAS or adaptors.

I knew I spoke too soon and that it wouldn't really work like I had already said earlier in this thread.

^All half ton gmt400s that were HD models were 6-lug, the standard half ton gmt400 is a 5-lug. The thinnest adapter you can run for 6-8 lug conversion is a 2" I think, and I'd recommend a cnc'd steel or machined iron adapter. The reason wheels don't balance due to adapters is because the adapters were incorrect hub bore size. If you decide to use adapters, I'd personally rebuild your brakes....it would suck to have to undo all that soon after due to having to do brake work.
