6 Lug to 8 lug

Can I convert a 6 lug truck to 8 lug truck on a 97 K1500 Chevy Silverado? How is it done?

For the rear you could swap axles with a 14 Bolt FF from a 2500HD (Not LD, those are 6)

But I think there is lug adapters you slide over your lugs and it allows you to put an 8 lug on wheel on.

Using adapters is out and will not be used. I already have set of 16.5x 9.75 chrome rims that are lug too. I was trying to sell them on CL but got no bites.

Swapping to 8 lug hubs just for wheels is kind of a ridiculous sounding thing to me.

Go get different rear axle shafts, and see if you can get 8 lug wheel bearings for a half ton.

Not many tire choices? Thats odd. I can find 16.5 tires all day long on the internet at tirerack.
