when the factory original pump failed in my 1997 dually, i went with an Aeromotive pump. Old style carrier, i guess, certainly not a bucket. I dropped the tank. still had about 10 gals in it, the baffles prevented me from being able to siphon all of it out. other than a PCM tune and a shift...

Crane Axle I took a grinder to the logo, felt it would just serve to accumulate dirt & grime, and also rounded off all the sharp edges so I wouldn't have thin spots in the paint. I bought it in 2011, I think it was $180 then. they're $265 now, Bidenflation.

    Good quality multifunction switch.

that head-end of the steering column looks so complicated, a whole bunch of gizmos and widgets. Glad you got it figured out. Nice steering wheel, too. Just curious, were you able to get the Firebird horn button to work also? That would be the icing on the cake.

    New fuel pump not working??

might be normal. I have a fuel pressure gauge at my fuel rail inlet. when I replaced my fuel pump, I did have to prime it about 3 times before it showed any pressure at the fuel rail. and I did change the filter, actually swapped out the whole fuel pump hanger, sending unit assembly. works...

Egr delete- Plug egr hole on manifold?

this must be new, the PCM a friend-of-a-friend got for his 7.4L L29 from them has the EGR tuned out. a few years back. if anybody from the EPA is reading this, it's for a 100% off-road motor that has been disassembled and disposed.

i've had that symptom happen, but it turns out I did roll the O-ring on installation. the gas flood showed up immediately as soon as I primed the fuel pump, not delayed after a few miles.

i swapped in a BB PCM into my '97 K3500 4x4. 7.4L (454) Vortec, 4L80E. paid the core charge so no down time, started right up, no issues at all, perfect. i'm a happy customer. I have my take-out original PCM wrapped up, in a box, shelf-spare.

    PCV hose replacement

my valve-cover-top oil separator made a big difference on my 350 SBC. I have a catch can in-series with my PCV valve, used to have to drain that every month or so. after installing my breather baffle separator on top of my valve cover, i check it only when I change my oil, and it's less than a...

My 97 3/4 ton 454... anything else i need or should do ?

on all the vehicles I put a deep trans pan on, I can't tell a immediate performance difference, but the main reason for doing it is the extra capacity, reduced fluid temp (due to the capacity & fins, not measured with a gauge), and reduced fluid temp leads to longer fluid life, longer trans...

My 97 3/4 ton 454... anything else i need or should do ?

I went with B&M. Kinda a traditional style, not high tech. get a new gasket. I went with a replacement plastic gasket with the embedded molded-in o-ring. you might not be able to re-use the stock bolts due to the increased thickness of the pan, I can't remember if the pan came with bolts or...

My 97 3/4 ton 454... anything else i need or should do ?

found them. GM 12562369, available from Summit, GM Performance Parts, GM Parts Store. Summit description says 3/8" pushrods, 3/8" stud hole. Funny, the Summit comments have a whole bunch of folks complaining that the bolt hole doesn't fit the usual 7/16" stud. If only I had this information...
