    Fluctuating voltmeter and a dead battery

    I would look into replacing that lead, I would guess you find the other end of that cable dirty as well. Sounds similar to issues I had, I had a dirty negative lead where it grounds near the bottom of the engine compartment.

    Tried this, didn't seem to work. However, I pulled the cruise control (it wasn't working) fuse and left it out and the problem stopped. Drove around with the fuse out and no more lights. Put the fuse back in and it came back immediately.

    That did it, the end of my negative cable was oily and gunky. Cleaned all of them up and jumped it to find 14 volts on my gauge! Thanks a bunch for the advice.

    from the back of the alternator to the negative post of the batter I only have 3.2 volts, with either alternator, this one or the previous one.

    OK, i have 12 volts at my battery before I start it; 11.8 volts after I start it. My battery light some time comes on. I tried a new (NOT a reman) alternator, same issue. All my pulleys are on tight, my alternator is not loose. I had my battery tested at O'Reilys and they said it was good...

    Brake light, ABS light flicker?

    Just got a 97 z71 two days ago, the parking brake light and the ABS light flash on and off at random times (sometimes just one or the other) while driving. seems kinda strange; threw a code up (p0108) then the service engine light went away next time i started it, never seen it again. Any ideas?
