Charging system issues
@GoToGuy from other replies I have heard alternators should be good for operating all the way up to 250-300 degrees farenheit. assuming that is okay, i still do not understand the sudden voltage drop.- jacob dehart

I have a 94 K1500 5.7 tbi. I was working on the trucks brakes and had started it to let it get warm as it has sat sone time while working on it. Alternator Overheating?
Alternator is a standard AC Delco remy, not the heavy duty. Rated for 145 amps. Not sure if i bought one re manufactured or new.- jacob dehart

Alternator Overheating?
Key off, battery rests at 12.6 volts. Sometimes takes 5 minutes other times takes 15. Hot as in above normal operating temp for the alternator. Too hot to keep my hand on for more than a couple seconds.- jacob dehart
