What kind of mileage do you get?
The Le sabre was rated 18/29 and I had a few mods on it. Cold air intake and exhaust work so 30+ on the hwy with wussy 2.86 gears was easy.- chevyforlife

1998 K1500 Power Boost
GM has a crate 383 Vortec that is the 5.7 block that costs a little more than $2500 but it is exactly what you want. It's more of a torque monster but I think it has 340 horses. What kind of mileage do you get?
I traded my Buick Le sabre for my 1997 Silverado with 5.7 engine and 3.42 gears, so it was a BIG adjustment to the fuel mileage and budget-I needed a truck. electric fans info
1997 Silverado with 5.7 and a 180 degree thermostat, been using Proform e fan for years and have had no problems as of yet. Wired to run when ac is on, and when the temp reaches above 210 degrees.
