Do you have provisions already machined and drilled for the GM spider? If so the difference is probably a savings of hundreds of dollars. If your block is ready you can go to the junkyard and grab all that stuff from a 96-00 vortec truck or SUV for the cheap.

Thanks for replying anyway, the problem turned out to be the balancer mark was a lil off. I crawled under the truck and used a bottle of whiteout and marked it real good and retimed it...ran like a champ.
Anybody, got any tips on removing a broken rocker arm stud? Truck started idling funny at lunch today, I had it towed home and took off the valve cover, cyl 3 exhaust rocker arm was laying at the bottom of the head. i guess there's about half inch left of the stud, how can I remove it?
Yeah I'm gonna reset the timing to 0, I guess I can check it real quick tomorrow by unhooking the EST wire and seeing where I'm at. I hadn't thought about the dist turning while I'm tightening the bolt.
It does seem to run better the farther I get from 0 degrees with the EST unplugged. But when I tighten the dizzy and plug in the connector it starts acting stupid, idle drops from 1k down to about 500 rpm's.
I've never used hi level inputs on an amp, do they really sound ok?
