The workmanship of that interior is very good, but just not a fan of the chrome interior trim, especially on all the controls. That ain't gonna last.
Ostrich leather. (May be be vinyl.) Overplayed in the late '90's/early 00's. Trendy back then. Now? I'll pass.
WTF is with that carpet color?
That's German Square Weave carpet. OEM in high-end euros, exotics &...Beetles.(!?!) 100% wool. Tuff as nails.
Very stiff & inflexible. Doesn't conform well to the oddball shapes of a vehicle floor, therefore the multiple sections & pieces.
...and that bound seam running the length of the trans tunnel.
A Square Weave carpet set for an MGB is made up of 19 individual pieces. A Karmann Ghia requires 13.
Just because that stuff doesn't like to get bent.
There is no such thing as a G/S/W molded carpet kit for any vehicle.
Limited in color selection.
The life span of wool carpet is far superior to the North American standard of 80/20 (rayon/nylon) carpet.
Stain & abrasion resistant. UV stable. Exceeds flammability standards.
When done right, I like it. It's different.
It's...'wrong', but in a good way.
Gives a kinda high-end feeling to the interior.
But that color??? Come o-o-o-n.
I get that the designer wanted to break up all the rest of that interior's color, but jeez...
The color I would of chosen would of been the one
right beside their choice!
What'd the guy do? Write down the wrong number on his order sheet?
#2 bottom row. '324 Honey Brown'. Slightly darker than the rest of the interior, but with enough interspersed color details to tie it all together.
The materials in a vehicle's interior all have to be relevant to each other, whether in contrast or harmony.
A darker carpet color makes the floor disappear & keeps the focus on the seats/door panels/dash.

Just to top it all off, they stitched the carpet with binding tape.
The most expensive auto carpet, bound with the cheapest ch!t for the job on the market.
Wool carpets get serged.
