Looks like input speed sensor for 4l80e if there are two of them. But would not be on k1500.

Agreed, unless it's a 454SS (OP said a 97 and K1500, so no) or a diesel K1500? Maybe OP got a wiring harness from a different truck? But he already has his speed sensors plugged in? Maybe more pictures will help.

I found a photo of when I swapped/upgraded my transmission and added the second speed sensor, and it looks very similar to one OP posted. OP, what is the history with this truck? You just bought it? Anything swapped in it?

i bought it off someone. I had to replace the tranny. I assumed the tranny was a 4L60E. And I assumed I had a 5.7 vortec. Now y’all got me wondering if it the original owner swapped it. I don’t think so but it’s possible Ig.

Look on the glovebox for the RPO code. 5.7 Vortec will be L31 and 4L60e will be M30.

Yes, the 4L60e would be correct for your truck, unless it was a 6.5 turbo diesel, although those are extremely rare. I even forget the C/K1500 6.5 TD exist, LOL.

Pretty sure those are speed sensor plugs. Some transfer cases had 2 speed sensors in the tail housing, but shouldn't keep it from starting. I would definitely reconfigure the neutral safety switch on the side of the transmission like

stutaeng said, they rarely go bad. If you have a test light can go though the starter circuit checking for power.
