my 1996 K1500 is at 240K miles. I replaced upper ball joints and all the steering about 10 years ago. thought that would be the last time. well that was with a mix of auto zone parts i believe. the upper ball joints didn't last and replaced them about 3 years ago with MOOG, as well as one side MOOG inner/outer tie rods. the auto zone pitman and idler arm are trash too now. so my situation is now i need to do some of my front end again. my Moog parts that are on it seem still fine. the internets seem to be in consensus is that MOOG has gone way downhill. Im not sure if I'm keen on the way MOOG has the boots on the lower ball joints these days. i need to get lower ball joints for stamped arms, pitman arm, idler arm, one side set of tie rods, and one CV half shaft. i have the warranty on power steering pump and box so will be swapping them too. who are the go to brands now for parts? i really want this to be the last time. ( i say that ever time now) the lower ball joints are factory still hand have had slit boots for well over 13 years now. i see people talk well about MEVOTECH TXK line? are AC delco professional any good? i don't see an AC delco OEM line for the balljoints, unless I'm missing something. does MOOG really suck now?
