How can I identify what transfer case is in my 92 K3500? It originally came with a 454 and an NP4500 and it is a crew cab long bed DRW.

I am looking at swapping a 4L80E into is from my 2wd Suburban so I need to know.

Thanks in advance,

Frank

Its probably an NP241c but to know for sure you'll have to look at it, there should be a small round dog tag attached to it.

Its the red tag in this picture...

Crawl under and inspect your transfer case for an identifying tag or engraving. No better way to determine it.

Should be a BorgWarner 4401. Easiest way to tell is BW cases have a PTO cover on the passenger side, NP241s do not have this
