Does anyone know what this plug is and where it goes? I've owned the truck for 2 weeks and am troubleshooting a crank no start injector pulse issue. I'm not dumb but I also don't see where this could plug into. 1989 5.7 TBI.

"Set Timing" connector? Brown wire? Disconnected to adjust initial timing, then re-connected to actually drive around normally.

The other half is probably tucked into the convoluted tubing.

Engine should run with that disconnected. Won't have much power, and will set a code...but it'll run.

It is a brown wire, yes. I dug around in that tubing this morning but didn't find the other plug. There is one about 6" up that is also brown but it is plugged into another wire as you can see in my pic..

Is it possible the one plugged in is a repaired one for the possibly broken unplugged one. Guessing here…

If it makes you feel a little better, I have the same wire not connected and have no idea where it goes as well. Fortunately I donʻt have a cranking problem. There is another wire to the driver side disconnected as well but they are different housings so canʻt connect and no where near long enough to meet.
