Temp sensor vs sender

I’m needing to replace the 1wire temp sender on my 96 7.4l. The sender is a $25-$35 part. But a 2wire temp sensor is a $6 part. Is there a way to make that work?

Probably not.

You'd need to find out how those parts are made--internal resistance vs. temperature. The 2-wire unit is probably way different than the 1-wire sender.
