Looking over the burb today I realized that the rear carpet was soaked which I traced to the right rear headliner at which point I found the roof rack is wicked loose right in that corner. So Pretty sure thats the culprit but I was wondering if to fix this I would need to drop the headliner or do the bolts just bolt into the roof?

Pretty sure they are nut zerts that they put in the roof. You may haveto drop the headliner if the screws wont back out.
Hope this helps!

Yes they are nut insert's I would also suggest loosening the rack up enough where you can put a dab a clear silicone around the bolt and then tighten them back down.
