Stuck in first gear

Was driving my truck the other day and went to take off from a stop sign. When I shifted into second gear, nothing. The shifter went down like it should, but the trans stayed in first. Now it's permanently stuck in first gear. I can freely move the shifter from first to second only, but nothing happens. Any ideas? It is a 93, 5.7L 5 speed.

I'm hoping its something that simple. Got the trans out a bit ago and tomorrow I'll open it up and take a look.

Had some stuff come up but finally got it all apart. The selector finger that is on the shifter rail broke so now I have to try and find a new one. This should be fun.
